23/09/07 British Master Track Championships-Ian Humphreys retains pursuit title

The British Masters Track Championships, originally scheduled for late June but postponed due to severe flooding in England were held at Scunthorpe track from 21st - 23rd September.

In the mens 2km pursuit Ian Humphreys retained his title for a 3rd successive year in addition to winning a bronze medal in the 500m time trial.

23/09/07 Jack Richards takes 3rd in Scottish MTB Series

The final round of the Scottish Cross Country Mountain Bike series (SXC) took place at Glentress on Sunday 23rd September. Former Junior series winner Jack Richards achieved his best finish to date in the elite/Expert category taking an excellent 3rd place in a time of 2:00:02, only loosing second place due to a puncture on the last lap . The tightly fought race was won by Iain Nimmo in 1:58:36

01/09/07 Bealach Na Ba Challange

The Bealach Na Ba challenge, Scotlands biggest Cycle Sportive event took place on Saturday September 1st.  The hilly 90 mile route in North West Scotland includes the climb of the Bealach Na Ba (Gaelic for Pass of the cattle), the longest road climb in Britain at 2053 feet.

Katrina Brown completed the route in 5:22:50, 1st woman home in a field for approximately 600. 1st person home was Michael Nicolson in a time of 4:30:22.

19/08/07 Ironman UK

In his 1st full Ironman Triathlon Martin Goodlad finished in an excellent 63rd overall and 9th in his age category from a field of 1128 finishers. Martins split times were.

Swim   0:53:11 (49th)

Bike     5:35:18 (77th)

Run      3:32:32 (106th)

His total finishing time was 10:07:06. Amasingly his run time was only 6 minutes slower than his time in the Lochaber Marathon in april this year.

The event was won by Aberdeens Scott Neyedli in a time of 8:35:53.

12/08/07 West Cheshire 12 hour - Dan Mathers 2nd again!

On a wet and windy day Dan Mathers (Seamons CC) took another 2nd place in the West Cheshire 12 hour TT with a finishing distance of 261.74.  The event was won by Neil Skellern (Congleton CC) wit a distance of 267.6 miles.

Well done Dan, the win will come soon!

22/07/07 British MTB Championships

Only 6 days after completing l’Etape Du Tour Katrina Brown was back on British soil for the British MTB Championships near Plymouth.

Racing in the elite womans category Katrina finished in 11th place in 2:22:03. The category was won by Jenny Copnall in 2:00:16.

22/07/07 Turriff Sprint Triathlon - Martin Goodlad takes 1st win!

Fresh from an excellent result in the World Long Course Championships in France last weekend, Martin Goodlad took his 1st overall win in the Turriff Sprint Triathlon.

Martin was 2nd out of the water at the end of the swim, 2nd fastest on the bike and fastest in the run to take the win by almost 3 minutes in a time of 1:13:07.

21/07/07 British 24 Hour Championship

Bruce Bricknell, Allan McCourt, Mebs Bobat, Scott Taylor and Ken Bryson were part of the 13 person Deeside Thistle CC team at the British 24 Hour time Trial Championships promoted by Mersey Roads CC.

21/07/07 Dan Mathers takes 2nd in MDTTA 50 mile TT

Dan Mathers (Seamons CC) finished 2nd in the MDTTA 50 mile TT in a time of 1:56:14.  The event was won by Alf Hilton (Warrington RC) in 1:55:58.

16/07/07 L’Etape Du Tour

Katrina Brown & Mebs Bobat both took part in L’ Etape Du Tour Cyclo Sportive (a stage of the Tour) covering 199km with 4,000m of ascent in the French Pyrenees. Katrina finished in 9:14:30 for 1329th overall and 14th woman from 7,000 starters and 4357 finishers.

Mebs, taking it a little easier, finished in approximately 12 hours, no doubt keeping something in the tank for the British 24 hour Championships next Saturday!

15/07/07 World Long Course Triathlon Championships

Martin Goodlad was part of the GB age group team at the World Long Course Triathlon Championships at Lorient, France on 16th July. The event consisted of a 3km open water swim, 80 km bike and 20 km run.

Martin finished in 4:30:13 for 114th position overall from 427 finishers, and 19th in his category. He was 4th GB finisher in his category.

The event was won by Simon Billeau of France in a time of 3:48:08.

23/06/07 Liz Chellingsworth completes cross Scotland Highland Cross duathlon

On Saturday, 23rd of June Liz Chellingworth lined up at the start of the annual cross Scotland Highland Cross Duathlon.  The event consists of a 20 mile cross country run followed by a 30 mile road cycle.  It starts at Morvich on the west coast, passes through Glen Affric and Strathglass and finishes in Beauly in the east.

Liz completed the course in 4:40:13 in 108th position from 683 finishers, and 7th woman. A great achievement in a 1st Highland Cross.

The event was won by Paul Rodden from Inverness in 3:39:47.

17/06/07 European Duathlon & UK Ironman 70.3 Triathlon Championships

This weekend saw the European Duathlon championships take place in Edinburgh and the UK Ironman 70.3 Championships take place at Wimbleball Lake, Somerset.

John Blunsdon was a member of the GB age group team at the Duathlon. John finished 14th in his age group and 63rd overall in a field of over 250 athletes from all over Europe. Johns time was 2:05:49.

Martin Goodlad took part in his 1st 1/2 Ironman Triathlon in Somerset finishing 62nd overall and 10th in age group in a time of 5:23:32. Martins performance qualifies him for a place in the GB age group team for the World championships in Florida in November to add to his qualification for the Sprint Triathlon worlds at Strathclyde Park 2 weeks ago.

05/06/07 Dan Mathers takes 4th in Trans Scotland MTB race

After 6 days of place to place transition stages and timed special stages covering 498km and including 14,100m of climbing Dan Mathers finished 4th in the Trans Scotland MTB Race.

27/05/07 Martin Goodlad qualifies for Sprint Triathlon Worlds

At the Scottish and British Sprint Triathlon Championships at Strathclyde Park near Glasgow, Martin Goodlad finished 33rd overall, 18th in the Scottish Championship and 6th in his age category to book his place in the Great Britain age group team for the Sprint Triathlon world championships in Germany later in the year.

13/05/07 An Excellent Weekend for Total Endurance Athletes

DTCC 25 Mile TT

Jonathan Copp won the DTCC 25 mile TT at Drumlithie, south of Aberdeen in a personal best and course record time of 53.13. John Blunsdon, continuing his build up to the European Duathlon championships in June finished 11th in 59.47, closely followed by Derek (Dick) Stewart in 12th place with a personal best 59.52, at age 70! Bruce Bricknell improved his personal best by 3.5 minutes and just missed out on the hour, finishing in 1.00.04. Brian Duncan continued his comeback, finishing in 1.01.00, and Alasdair McGill completed his 1st 25 in 1.07.54.

Duckinfield CC 50 TT

On a windy day near Manchester Dan Mathers (Seamons CC) clocked an excellent 1.55.48 to take 2nd place, missing his 1st open event win by 30 seconds. That 1st win can’t be far away.

British Cross Country MTB Series

Having moved up from sport, Jack Richards finished in a strong 12th place in the Expert category in round 2 of the MTB series at Sherwood Forest.

08/04/07 Jonathan Copp takes 3rd in Round 2 of Rudy Project British TT Series

Jonathan Copp took an excellent 3rd place in the 2nd round of the Rudy Project British time trial series at Bassenthwaite on Sunday 8th April. Jonathan finished the 2 lap, 31 mile hilly course in 1:10:02.  The event was won by Paul O’Mahoney in 1:08:44, with Juilan Ramsbottom 2nd in 1:09:39

01/04/07 Scottish Cross country MTB Series (SXC)

In the 1st round of the Scottish mountain Bike Series (SXC) on 25th March 2007, Katrina Brown won the Ladies Masters category with a gap of 3 minutes to the next competitor.

Shelley Farrar was 6th in her 1st race in the Ladies elite/expert category,

Andrew Kneeshaw finished 4th Junior in his 1st race since moving up from youths.

Unfortunately, after a strong start, Jack Richards failed to finish his 1st race in senior elite/expert due to a mechanical problem. 

Well done to all, a successful start to the MTB season.

01/04/07 Aboyne Duathlon

John Blunsdon continued his run of good form finishing 2nd to Spanish visitor Carlos Marin in the Scottish ranking Aboyne Duathlon in a time of 1:25:01.

Martin Goodlad finished in a strong 11th place in 1:29:46.

25/03/07 John Blunsdon qualifies for European Duathlon Championships

At the Kingdom of Fife, Scottish Duathlon Championships (10km run, 40km cycle, 5km run) on 25th March 2007, In only his 2nd duathlon, John Blunsdon finished in an excellent 6th position in his age group in a time of 2:00:08 for to qualify of the Great Britain age group team for the European Duathlon Championships to be held in Edinburgh in June. 

Total Endurance will be supporting John in the build up to the championship.
