THE SCIENCE OF YOUR ENGINE Most fitness tests (like an FTP ramp test) only measure your output. They tell you how fast you are, but not why. We go deeper. By measuring your Lactate Production Rate (VLamax), we look inside the engine to see exactly how your body creates energy.
STEP 1: THE METABOLIC AUDIT
The Protocol: We take you through a specific graded protocol (running or cycling) designed to stress your aerobic and anaerobic systems independently.
The Measurement: We don't just watch your heart rate. We measure Blood Lactate accumulation.
Why this is superior: Lactate is the direct byproduct of burning carbohydrates. By measuring it, we can calculate with clinical precision exactly how much sugar vs. fat you are burning at every single intensity zone. No other test gives you this level of fuel clarity.
STEP 2: THE "VLamax" REVEAL
The Secret Metric: We identify your VLamax (Maximal Lactate Building Rate).
Why it matters for Hyrox:
High VLamax: You have a "Ferrari" engine. You are explosive on the Sleds, but you burn fuel too fast and "gas out" on the runs.
Low VLamax: You have a "Diesel" engine. You can run forever, but you lack the punch to move heavy weights quickly.
The Fix: Standard FTP testing ignores this completely. We measure it so we can train it.

The Pacing Strategy: Because we know your exact "Combustion Rate" (grams of carbs/hour), we give you a precise Race Day Pacing Plan. You will know exactly how hard you can push the Sled Push without tipping over into "metabolic failure."
