Swim propulsion analysis · Aberdeen

See the force behind every stroke

Most swimmers waste half their effort or more pushing water down and sideways. Our EO SwimBETTER force-sensing paddles measure exactly where your effort goes, stroke by stroke, so we can turn it into speed. For club swimmers, triathletes, masters and anyone who wants to swim faster for the same effort.

The problem

You can’t fix what you can’t feel

Video shows what your stroke looks like. It can’t show where your force goes. A dropped elbow, a slipping catch or a lazy left arm can cost you seconds every length and still look fine on camera.

Without data

  • Generic drills with no measurable outcome
  • No way to know which flaw costs you the most
  • Months of training that never fix the real issue

With EO force data

  • See exactly where every stroke loses force
  • Force data and video side by side, phase by phase
  • Corrections tested in the pool, same session
  • Re-test to prove the change has stuck
Real swimmer results

Real data. Real gains.

Every bar below comes straight from an EO SwimBETTER report and shows where each swimmer’s force went on every stroke. Red is the force driving them forward. The aim for distance freestyle is 70–75%.

Amanda · 5 months · 2 tests

She doubled her propulsion

Her first test showed an elbow drop pushing water down instead of back, and a left arm stalling mid-pull. Five months of targeted work later, twice as much of her effort drives her forward.

Measure. Fix. Re-test.

Harris started from a strong base, so the gains came from fine-tuning. Each re-test confirmed what was working and set the next priority, moving him steadily towards the elite distance target.

“Stalls” are strokes where force dips mid-pull and has to restart (a double peak on the EO power curve). Want results like these? Our 1-2-1 swim coaching builds your plan around your data, then re-tests to prove it is working.

Who it’s for

Built for every swimmer

Club & competitive swimmers

Find the flaw costing you time, fix left/right imbalances and turn hard training into faster races.

Triathletes

Swim faster for the same effort and come out of the water with more left for the bike and run.

Masters swimmers

Stay efficient, make every stroke count and protect your shoulders by fixing how force is applied.

Improving adults

Stopped getting faster? Find out exactly why, with clear priorities instead of guessing which drills to do.

Your session

What happens in 60 minutes

01

Warm-up on video

Above and below water footage of your natural stroke before we change anything.

02

EO force capture

A steady swim with the paddles, recording force, velocity and propulsion stroke by stroke.

03

Data meets video

Your force data overlaid on your footage, so you see the cause, not just the numbers.

04

Find the limiters

Stroke issues ranked by their impact on your pace and efficiency.

05

Fix and re-measure

3–5 corrections with drills, tested in the water before you leave.

What we measure

9 metrics on every stroke

EO SwimBETTER paddles record the force, speed and direction of each hand in real time. You leave with a written report you can train from, re-test against and share with your coach: hand path maps, a phase-by-phase breakdown, your key limiters and 3–5 priority actions with drills.

Common questions

Before you book

Do I need to be a strong swimmer?

No. The analysis works for all abilities. Beginners often see the fastest improvements because inefficiencies are easier to isolate with data.

Will I understand the data?

Yes. We interpret everything and match it to your video footage. You leave with clear explanations and a priority action plan, not just a dashboard of numbers.

How long does the session take?

A typical session takes 60 minutes, including warm-up, data capture, video review and a walk-through of your action plan.

What happens after the session?

You receive a detailed written report covering your strengths, your limiters and a drill-based technique plan. Package holders get ongoing guided support and a re-test to measure progress.

How is this different from video analysis?

Video shows what your stroke looks like. EO paddles measure the force your hands produce and the direction it goes, so we can see problems video can’t, like a catch that slips or an arm that stalls mid-pull. We use both together.

Can you come to our pool or club?

Yes. We run mobile squad days and bring all the equipment to you, working within your normal session with minimal disruption. See our club services or get in touch below.
