Swim Coaching Aberdeen

Whether you're learning to swim for the first time, preparing for your first triathlon, or want to finally break through a performance plateau — we coach the swimmer in front of us, not a generic programme.

Club Swimmers

Club sessions are built for the group. We coach the swimmer in front of us. If you're training consistently but not seeing the times improve, the problem is almost never effort — it's usually something in the stroke that nobody's had the time to look at properly. We look at it properly.

Triathlete / Open Water

The swim doesn't lose you a triathlon — but a poor swim absolutely affects what comes after it. We look at how you actually move through the water, what's costing you energy, and build from there.

Triathlon Swim Coaching

Beginners & Improvers

Most adult swim lessons put you in a lane with seven other people and hope something sticks. Our sessions are built around you: what's holding you back and a clear plan to fix it. You'll understand exactly what to work on and why

Start making progress

Most swim coaches watch you swim and tell you what to fix. We go further than that. Every session is built on understanding what's actually happening in your stroke - not just what it looks like from the side of the pool.

  • Underwater video analysis — you'll see exactly what your stroke is doing, not just take our word for it

  • Propulsion measurement — we measure the actual force you're producing and where it's being lost. Most swimmers are shocked by what this reveals

  • Private pool — no lane traffic, no crowd, no pressure. Just you and the coach focused entirely on your swimming

Not just coaching

Why people come to us

Sound familiar?

Most of the swimmers we work with arrive having already tried the obvious things. More lengths. YouTube drills. A new pair of goggles. Here's what we actually hear.

01

"I'm swimming more but not getting faster"

Volume without understanding is just rehearsing the same mistakes. If your stroke has a flaw, doing it 3,000 times a week doesn't fix it — it cements it. We find what's actually holding you back.

02

"I want to do a triathlon but I'm not confident enough to enter"

The swim stops more people entering triathlons than anything else. We've helped swimmers go from dreading the pool to completing their first open water event. It starts with understanding your stroke — not just swimming more of it.

03

"I feel embarrassed going to the pool"

Our pool is private. There are no lanes, no crowds, no one to compare yourself to. It's just you and the coach. Most people are surprised how quickly that changes things — once you understand what you're doing wrong, progress comes faster than you expect.

FAQ

Common Questions

I'm not sure which type of coaching is right for me — how do I choose?

Drop us a message with a bit about your current swimming and your goal — whether that's a first triathlon, improving club times, or just feeling more comfortable in the water. We'll point you in the right direction before you book anything.

Do I need to be able to swim already?

No. We work with complete beginners who have never swum a length, right through to competitive club swimmers chasing specific PBs. Our beginner programme is specifically designed for adults starting from scratch — or close to it.

Where do sessions take place?

All sessions take place in our private pool in Bucksburn, Aberdeen. It's a completely private facility — no other swimmers, no public, no pressure. You can stop and stand whenever you need to, which makes a significant difference for nervous swimmers and for detailed technical work.

What's the difference between your coaching and a club session?

In a club session, a coach is managing a group. They can watch you, but they can't give you their full attention, analyse your stroke in detail, or build a session specifically around your weaknesses. Our coaching is entirely 1-to-1. It's just you and the coach, with video analysis and propulsion data to back up what we're seeing — not just a poolside opinion.

How quickly will I see improvement?

Most swimmers notice a difference within the first session — not because we've fixed everything, but because they understand for the first time exactly what they need to work on. Real, lasting technique change takes consistent practice, but the clarity you get from the first session alone is usually a significant shift from where most swimmers are.

Can I come with a friend or partner?

Yes — we can accommodate small group sessions of two or three people. Get in touch before booking and we'll advise on the best setup for your situation.

Still have a question? Drop us a message and we'll get back to you within 24 hours.
